Development Intern
New York City Center's Development Department is seeking an intern for the fall season (September - December, 2010), with an option to extend into spring 2011. The intern will participate in all Development Department functions with a special emphasis on Individual Giving Core responsibilities will include answering the Membership hotline; helping produce acknowledgment letters; assisting in booking reservations and Open Dress Rehearsals; participating in the operation of cultivation events and patrons' lounge activities; researching both individual and capital prospects; attending all department and staff meetings; assisting with clerical tasks and other duties as needed.
The successful candidate must have computer proficiency, very strong writing, communication, organizational and research skills, and a pleasant and professional telephone manner. Interest and experience in arts administration is a definite advantage. Knowledge of Tessitura is a plus, but not required.
Minimum commitment of 30 hours per week is required, though exact schedule is flexible and can be negotiated. Nights and weekends occasionally required on performance days.
