The American Theatre Wing's SpringboardNYC, an intensive summer boot camp for actors, is looking for a motivated student or recent graduate to work alongside our program director and staff, assisting with SpringboardNYC's 2008 program. This year's program dates are June 2nd-June 15th, 2008. Internship begins immediately.
Now in its seventh year, SpringboardNYC provides practical, hands-on career guidance for college students in the arts, and equips young people for their transition from a protective academic training environment to a competitive professional life. The college-to-career theatrical immersion curriculum includes a series of workshops, seminars, master classes and field trips, placing participants in the center of New York's theatrical community, with access to influential working artists. The internship requires a commitment through at least the end of June 2007, starting with flexible schedule of a minimum of 15 hours/week. During the period of mid-May through June 20, the internship will be full-time.
Duties will include basic administrative support, including liaison with participating schools and teacher/mentors, working on database and program archives, as well as specific research projects as needed. Looking for flexible self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Position demands strong attention to detail, great communication skills, proficiency in MS applications, and a passion for and knowledge of New York theatre.
