PATTY ALLEN is the Development Associate at Theatre Development Fund (TDF) where she manages the annual direct mail appeals to 80,000 members, the annual raffle (raising $96,000 in FY05) and all donor related special events (10 per year). She is also helping to establish a new corporate and individual donor benefits program and assists with writing grant proposals and cultivating new and existing individual, corporate and foundation funders. Patty joined TDF after 18 months as Development Director at Friends of the Children NY (FOTCNY), a mentoring program based in Harlem. At FOTCNY, Patty solicited new corporate and foundation support, leveraged the community for in-kind donations, established an individual giving program (increasing the mailing list 40%) and established event committees (increasing event revenue 56%). Before joining the staff of FOTCNY, Patty worked for three years at the Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM). At the Museum she managed and developed programs for both the corporate and the family membership programs and expanded program rosters to 30 corporations and over 4,000 families. She played a crucial role in the production of CMOM?s annual benefit (raising over $1.5 million over 3 years) and established, managed and coordinated the benefit committee. Prior to CMOM, Patty worked in Alumni Relations at M.I.T. for two years before enrolling at NYU to pursue her M.A. in Visual Arts Administration, not-for-profit. In the course of her M.A. program she took classes in marketing and organizational behavior at NYU's Stern School of Business. Patty's interest in arts goes back to her undergraduate studies where she received a B.A. in Art Education and she currently holds a New York State Provisional Teaching License for Visual Arts Education, grades K-12.
