Jessica Molaskey
JESSICA MOLASKEY is a veteran of over a dozen Broadway shows including, A Man of No Importance at Lincoln Center written by Terrance McNally, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and directed by Joe Mantello, Parade (directed by Hal Prince), Dream, Tommy, Crazy for You, Les Miserables, City of Angles, Chess, Cats and Oklahoma! Jessica has premiered music written by Ricki Ian Gordan (Dream True and the Family Project), Larry O'Keefe (3hree) Adam Guettal, Jason Robert Brown (Songs for a New World and Parade) Michael John LaChuisa, and Stephen Sondheim (Wise Guys directed by Sam Mendes). Her debut CD Pentimento, was proclaimed one of the top five entertainment records by Amazon.com for 2002. Jonathan Schwartz of National Public Radio called it "the most satisfying CD of the year." Her most recent CD A Good Day garnered many top ten picks for 2003 Reviewers have compared her singing to Peggy Lee, Ricki Lee Jones, K.D. Lang, Chris Connor, and even Chet Baker and her­lyric writing to Dave Frishberg and even Cole Porter. She has sung in concert from Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall to the Montreal Jazz festival. Jessica performs yearly at Feinstein's at the Regency with husband John Pizzarelli. The two have written original popular songs for many recordings and wrote the sin Greed for Audra McDonalds new song cycle at Carnegie Hall, The Seven Deadly Sins. Recordings: Pentimento, Good Day, Make Believe (to be released in the fall ) and Fred Hersh's Two Hands Ten Fingers. Cast Recordings: A Man of No Importance, Myths And Hymns, Parade, Songs For a New World, Weird Romance, Chess, Oklahoma!, Windflowers, 3hree, Fine and Dandy.
