Jessica Lange
JESSICA LANGE is currently appearing on Broadway in The Glass Menagerie. She last starred on Broadway as another Tennessee Williams heroine, Blanche DuBois, in A Streetcar Named Desire. She returns to the New York stage after receiving critical acclaim in London’s West End – once again as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire and as Mary Tyrone in O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, for which she received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress. Miss Lange is a two-time Academy Award winner - for Best Supporting Actress in Sydney Pollack’s Tootsie and Best Actress in Tony Richardson’s Blue Sky. She was also nominated for the Oscar for her performances in Frances, Country, Sweet Dreams and Music Box. She made her film debut in the remake of King Kong, followed by performances in Bob Fosse’s All That Jazz, going on to receive critical acclaim in Bob Rafelson’s remake of The Postman Always Rings Twice. Her other notable film credits include starring roles in Crimes of the Heart, Far North, Everybody’s All-American, Men Don’t Leave, Cape Fear, Rob Roy, A Thousand Acres, Cousin Bette, Titus, Masked and Anonymous and Big Fish. On television, she received Emmy nominations for her performance in the HBO film “ Normal” and her performance as Blanche DuBois in the CBS Playhouse 90 presentation of “A Streetcar Named Desire.” Her upcoming films include Wim Wenders’ Don’t Come Knocking, written by Sam Shepard; Neverwas, also starring Nick Nolte and Ian McKellen; and Jim Jarmusch’s new film with Bill Murray.
