Edie Falco
EDIE FALCO is best known for her starring role as Carmela Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos and has been nominated for an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award each season her show has aired, including its debut in 1999. Able to also count a recurring role on another HBO series, Oz, among her credits, Falco has appeared not only on the small screen, but on the silver screen and Broadway stage as well. This Long Island, New York native was trained at the Conservatory of Theater Arts and Film. Also appearing on the TV shows Law and Order and Homicide, Falco made her stage debut in the Broadway production Sideman and appeared in the play's London staging as well. Her film credits include 1997's Cop Land, Cost of Living, and, more recently, Freedomland. For Falco, 2006 was a year not unlike any other, as the accolades kept coming for her Sopranos role. The actress has been nominated for inclusion in the Best Actress category for the 2007 Golden Globes.
